These social dances combine the elegance of French quadrilles with the wild energy of Irish music. You can often see these dances at Irish dance events throughout Britain, Europe, and, of course, Ireland. To enhance the overall experience and express their individual style, dancers often incorporate battering - a rhythmic sequence of tapping steps that aligns with the music.
