Irish dance for joy since 2009
Our motto is “Irish dance for joy,” and we teach and share Irish dance in that spirit. In our courses you will not only learn to dance, but also discover plenty of Irish history, culture, and current dance trends. Sona Sol was founded by Tereza Macoszek Jindrova T.C.R.G., who obtained her Irish dance teaching licence in Ennis, Ireland, in 2018. At Sona Sol we focus mainly on Irish set dancing. Loved at socials and in pubs
Social dances that combine the elegance of French quadrilles with the wild energy of Irish music. Common at Irish socials in Czechia and abroad. Dancers often add battering, a step-like rhythm from Irish sean nós. Suitable for individuals, couples, kids, adults, and seniors.
Three times a year
Three times a year we host socials with a live band: New Year, St. Patrick’s Day, and the April set weekend. You can also dance at our final show, picnic, and Christmas Kopýtkování. In our set course we run a special social class every month.
Irish band and teachers
Every April we invite an Irish band and great teachers to Prague. Nine hours are devoted to live-music socials. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are full of workshops. A popular midnight session follows for chats, songs, and tunes.
We dance with joy
We travel together to socials across Europe. Since 2009 we have built a community that picnics, celebrates St. Patrick’s Day, hosts socials, flies kites, camps, sings, plays Irish instruments, and more.
